Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Toronto FC improved its playoff chances with an important victory over the Colorado Rapids, 3-2, at BMO Field in Major League Soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

Dwayne De Rosario had a goal and an assist as TFC gained the three points to move a point ahead of New England into fourth in the Eastern Conference table. New England, which has two games in hand, plays at Chivas USA on Sunday.

De Rosario got things going early with the game's first goal in the 19th minute. Marvell Wynne crossed into the Colorado Rapids penalty area from the right side to De Rosario, who took a touch, turned and fired into the right- post side netting for his 10th goal of the season.

The Rapids pulled even, however, just four minutes after the interval when Conor Casey out-muscled Wynne in the TFC area to head home a looping cross from Kosuke Kimura. It was Casey's league-leading 13th goal of the season.

But two goals less than three minutes apart in the final 20 minutes were enough for TFC to earn the full points.

O'Brian White scored the first in the 71st minute to make the score 2-1 after a flick pass by De Rosario in the box found him. White then flicked the shot over goalkeeper Preston Burpo for his second goal of the season.

Nana Attakora made it 3-1 in the 74th minute after his snap header of a Amado Guevara corner kick found the back of the net. The goal, Attakora's first of the season, proved to be the game winner as Colorado's Michael Holody added a goal in the 89th minute to close out the scoring.

The Rapids (10-8-6) will try to rebound from the road loss when it travels to San Jose on Friday, while TFC (9-9-7) will aim to build on the solid effort at Los Angeles in its next MLS fixture next Saturday.
