Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Justin Medlock kicked the game-winning 28-yard field goal and Jamal Robertson rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns, as Toronto snapped a franchise-long 10-game skid at home with a 25-22 double overtime win against Hamilton.
Cody Pickett won for the first time as a starting quarterback in the CFL, throwing for 254 yards on 20-of-31 efficiency. It was his fourth start of the season for Toronto and sixth of his career.
The Argonauts (3-7) posted their first home win since August 1, 2008 against Winnipeg and halted a five-game losing streak overall. Just the same, it's only the team's third win in the last 19 games dating back to last season.
Kevin Glenn had 222 yards passing on 28-of-43 throws and tossed an eight-yard touchdown to Arland Bruce III, who hauled in a game-high 10 passes for 45 yards.
Glenn also ran for a score while DeAndra' Cobb gained 93 yards on 10 carries for the Tiger-Cats (5-5), who beat these same Argos 34-15 in the annual Labor Day classic earlier this week. Hamilton has lost nine of its last 11 in Toronto.
Hamilton led 12-10 at the half and carried that edge into the fourth quarter after a lousy third stanza that saw three first downs.
Things picked up from there, though, as a single was followed by an 89-yard, eight-play scoring drive by the Argos that provided an 19-12 advantage. Robertson's one-yard plunge capped the romp and Pickett hit Tyler Scott for a two-point conversion with 2:49 left to play.
That proved enough time for Glenn and co. to march 72 yards in 2:44, and on the 10th play of the drive Glenn took it in himself from 18 yards out to tie the game at 19.
Both teams traded 27-yard field goals in the first overtime period but Nick Setta was wide left on a 49-yard attempt on the Tiger-Cats' first turn in the second OT session. Claude Harriott's sack of Glenn on second down just before the kick pushed Hamilton back seven yards .
A 14-yard Robertson run then set up Medlock's game-winning boot.
Setta's 28-yard kick was the first quarter's only tally. Toronto quickly moved in front on a 34-yard TD run by Robertson and a 24-yard Medlock kick early in the second stanza.
Setta, though, split the uprights from 36 yards out and Glenn's scoring connection with Bruce just before halftime gave the Tiger-Cats a 12-10 lead at the break.
