Hamburg, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Hamburg has been dealt a major blow with news that striker Paolo Guerrero is facing at least six months on the sidelines with knee ligament damage. Guerrero ruptured his cruciate ligament during Peru's 3-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to Venezuela on Wednesday. The former Bayern Munich striker will return to Hamburg on Friday for further scans on the injury but could find himself sidelined for the rest of the season. Guerrero had started the new season in electrifying form and was leading the Bundesliga scoring charts with four goals. Hamburg have already lost Alex Silva, Collin Benjamin (both knee) and Bastian Reinhardt (foot) to long-term injuries. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
