Norton, MA (My Sportsbook) - Jim Furyk and Sean O'Hair sure look like they want to play together at the Presidents Cup in five weeks.

Furyk, who shared the first-round lead with Steve Stricker, shot a four-under 67 Saturday to match O'Hair at 12-under-par 130 after two rounds of the Deutsche Bank Championship.

O'Hair fired a seven-under 64 to join his playing partner in the 36-hole lead.

Retief Goosen, who completed the low-scoring threesome, matched Furyk's 67 and is tied for third at minus-10 with Marc Leishman, who shot a 62 to miss the course record by one.

World No. 1 Tiger Woods, the 2006 champion, also shot 67 to move into a share of 28th at five-under-par 137.

Woods was meandering on the cut line for the first 11 holes of his round. After a birdie on two, he dropped a shot at the third. Woods parred his next eight holes and was hovering at minus-one, which was the cut line.

After making a clutch 19-foot par putt on 11, Woods converted a five-footer for birdie on 12 and came back with a nine-foot birdie putt on 14 at the TPC Boston to move to minus-three.

"I had to make them," said Woods of making clutch par saves on nine and 11. "I didn't have much of a choice. I was right on the cut line and 11 back at the time. I wanted to play the last seven holes in five- or six-under par to get back in the ball game."

Woods sank a 10-foot birdie putt on 16, then got up and down from a bunker at the par-five closing hole to finish seven back at minus-five.

"After seeing what those guys (Furyk and O'Hair) did today, you had to go low," Woods admitted.

Furyk birdied the 12th, but faltered to a bogey on the par-four 15th. He turned in nine-under thanks to a birdie on the par-five 18th.

He made it two straight with a birdie on the first. Furyk then tripped to another bogey on the third, but came right back with a birdie on four. He dropped in back-to-back birdie efforts from the sixth to join O'Hair in the lead at minus-12.

Furyk parred his final two holes to grab a share of the 36-hole lead for the 16th time in his PGA Tour career.

"Obviously I'm pleased with the finish. To go out there and shoot four-under today and get it to 12-under, I'll be in good position for the last two rounds," Furyk stated. "When I made a mistake or hit a bad shot, I was able to make par most of the time, and I did hit quite a few good shots and set myself up and was able to knock some putts in for birdie."

O'Hair parred his first five holes before a remarkable eight-hole stretch of golf in which he went eight-under par. He birdied the 15th and followed with birdies on 16 and 17 to make the turn at minus-eight.

The three-time winner on the PGA Tour birdied the first and came right back with an eagle on the par-five second to jump to 11-under.

O'Hair kept his run going with birdies on three and four, which gave him the lead at minus-13. After a par on five, O'Hair tripped to a bogey at six to drop to minus-12. He parred the last three holes to share the lead.

"I struck it really nicely today, gave myself a lot of opportunities for birdie and rolled it really nicely. I just had good speed control with the putter the last couple days," said O'Hair, who owns a piece of the 36-hole lead for the second time this season and third time in his career.

Justin Leonard (68), Kevin Sutherland (65), Scott Verplank (68), Mike Weir (65), John Senden (64) and Dustin Johnson (65) share fifth place at nine- under-par 133. Senden's round included a rare double-eagle on the par-five second.

Geoff Ogilvy (68), Angel Cabrera (69), Padraig Harrington (67) and Jason Day (66) are one shot further back at minus-eight.

Stricker dipped into a tie for 15th after a one-over 72 left him at seven- under-par 135.

The cut line fell at one-under-par 141 with 73 players moving on to the final two rounds.

Players who missed the cut and were knocked out of the FedEx Cup playoffs included: Cameron Beckman, Rod Pampling, Kevin Stadler, Ted Purdy, James Nitties, Tim Petrovic, Nick O'Hern and Jeff Klauk.

U.S. Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples missed the cut as well and is in danger of missing next week's BMW Championship, where the top 70 players on the playoffs points list will compete. Couples entered this week 67th in the standings.
