Tennessee Titans crushed the
Green Bay Packers, 27-13, in the final preseason tuneup for both teams.
Chris Henry added 54 yards on 14 touches for the Titans, who finished the preseason 3-2 and open the regular season on September 10 at Pittsburgh. Patrick Ramsey was 5-for-8 for 82 yards and Kerry Collins ended 0-for-3.
Brian Brohm was 20-for-28 passing for 154 yards and Aaron Rodgers went 2-for-3 for seven yards for the Packers, who finished the preseason at 3-1 and open the regular season on September 13 at home against the Bears. Kregg Lumpkin had a rushing TD and Jordy Nelson gained 50 yards on three grabs.
Rob Bironas' 49-yard field goal gave the Titans an early 3-0 lead. Mason Crosby tied it up with a 32-yarder of his own later in the first.
Young had a six-yard TD run, hooked up with Edison for an eight-yard score and Bironas added a 31-yarder to make it 20-3 heading to the intermission.
Edison hauled in a 31-yard TD pass from Ramsey in the third, but Lumpkin had a five-yard TD run later in the frame to make it 27-10 heading into the fourth quarter.
Crosby had a 33-yarder in the fourth to account for the final margin.
Game Notes
The Packers last finished a preseason unbeaten in 1999...Green Bay went 8-8 under head coach Ray Rhodes and missed the playoffs that season...Tennessee leads the all-time preseason series with Green Bay, 7-3, including a 23-21 road victory prior to last season...The Titans and Packers also squared off for a regular season matchup at LP Field last November 2, with Tennessee prevailing, 19-16, in overtime.
