Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Benfica loaned U.S. midfielder Freddy Adu to rival Belenenses on Tuesday, giving the 20-year-old American another chance to resurrect his faltering club career. Benfica is traditionally one of the strongest teams in Portugal. Belenenses is also located in Lisbon, but the club barely avoided relegation last season. Belenenses acquired Adu on a season-long loan. Adu played just two matches in his first season with Benfica in 2007, and spent last season on loan in France with Monaco but made just 10 appearances. |
