Vail, CO (My Sportsbook) - Five-time PGA Tour winner Jesper Parnevik underwent successful hip surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2009 season. Parnevik had the arthroscopic surgery early last week at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., according to his representatives at IMG. It was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon, who has carried out similar procedures on well-known golfers Greg Norman and Peter Jacobsen, IMG said in a statement released Monday. Parnevik's rehabilitation is expected to last three months, according to the statement. The 44-year-old Swede, who last won in 2001, is eyeing an early 2010 return. He previously underwent the same surgery in 2000. "I'm excited to compete again injury free," Parnevik said in the statement.
