Foxboro, MA (My Sportsbook) - The New England Patriots have released quarterback Kevin O'Connell and long snapper Nathan Hodel. O'Connell was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 2008 draft. He appeared in two games last season, completing 4-of-6 passes for 23 yards. The San Diego State product saw his first NFL action during the fourth quarter of a September 21 game against Miami and also played in the December 21 contest versus Arizona. Hodel joined the Patriots as a free agent in March after spending the past seven seasons with Arizona.
