Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Henry Burris' eight-yard touchdown pass to Jeremaine Copeland with just over a minute to play proved to be the difference, as the Calgary Stampeders sent the Toronto Argonauts to their 10th straight home loss with a 23-20 win.
Burris completed 19-of-29 passes for 260 yards with two scores and one interception for Calgary (4-4), which has won both games against Toronto this season. Copeland finished with four catches for 58 yards and both of Burris' touchdown passes. Nik Lewis had five receptions for 118 yards.
Joffrey Reynolds ran for 114 yards on 18 carries, posting his 22nd career 100- yard game with the Stampeders.
Cody Pickett threw for 311 yards and two touchdowns on 32-of-45 passing for Toronto (2-6), which has set a franchise record with its home losing streak. Jamal Robertson ran for 19 yards on seven carries and caught 11 passes for 91 yards in the Argos' fourth straight loss overall.
P.K. Sam was the recipient of both of Pickett's scoring passes in his season debut, catching five total balls for 75 yards.
With the score tied, 10-10, entering the fourth, Justin Medlock's 21-yard field goal on the first play of the quarter put the Argos ahead.
Dwaine Carpenter answered with a field goal for Calgary from 35 yards out with 11 minutes to play to tie the game once again, and Sandro DeAngelis added another field goal from 42 yards away with 6 1/2 minutes to go for a 16-13 edge.
Toronto then took the lead with five minutes remaining, as Pickett completed a four-play, 77 yard drive with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Sam.
Burris, though, led the late game-winning scoring drive, finding Copeland from eight yards away to finish a four-play, 39-yard march with 1:03 showing on the clock to send the Stampeders out in front, 23-20.
The Argos had one last shot on a Hail Mary attempt as time expired, but it was knocked away by a defender just shy of the end zone.
The first half ended in a 3-3 tie, as DeAngelis hit a 17-yard field goal for Calgary and Medlock answered for Toronto with a 43-yard make, both in the opening quarter.
The teams headed into the fourth tied, as well after both teams scored a touchdown in the third. Pickett found Sam from 12 yards out with just under seven minutes left in the period, and Burris hit Copeland with a 17-yard pass with a little less than three minutes left.
