Landover, MD (My Sportsbook) - Stephen Gostkowski's 30-yard field goal in the closing seconds of regulation lifted the New England Patriots to a 27-24 win over Washington at FedEx Field.

New England quarterback Tom Brady showed glimpses of his MVP form from 2007, completing 12-of-19 passes for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Randy Moss.

But late in the second quarter, Brady took a hard shot from defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and landed on his right shoulder. The Patriots announced that Brady had a "bruised shoulder."

Randy Moss finished with six grabs for 90 yards.

Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell threw for 209 yards on 13-of-22 efficiency and ran for a touchdown, while Santana Moss had five receptions for 56 yards.

It was an impressive opening drive of the game for Washington's first-string offense, a unit that hadn't yet produced a touchdown this preseason. Campbell completed all four attempts, and a pass interference infraction on New England's rookie cornerback Darius Butler put the ball at the one for the Redskins. Marcus Mason then burrowed his way into the end zone.

The Patriots immediately countered on the next series when Brady threw a 26- yard strike to Randy Moss with 5:54 remaining in the first quarter.

On the first play of the second stanza, Brady found Moss again, this time for a 27-yard score. A Gostkowski 43-yard field goal increased New England's lead to 17-7, but a 73-yard completion to Chris Cooley set up Campbell's four-yard TD run with three minutes to go before halftime.

Dave Rayner booted a 25-yard field goal for Washington as the second quarter came to a close, tying the game at 17.

Following the break, the Redskins were threatening to grab the lead, but Colt Brennan's intended pass for wideout D.J. Hackett was picked off by New England cornerback Jonathan Wilhite, who sprinted 99 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

Brennan rebounded and connected with Marko Mitchell for a 33-yard TD in the late stages of the third quarter.

Washington kicker Shaun Suisham missed a 52-yarder with four minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Game Notes

New England's Kevin O'Connell threw two interceptions...BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 49 yards on six carries for the Patriots...Brennan finished 6-of-12 for 81 yards.
