Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - United States men's national team coach Bob Bradley named his 24-player roster that will train for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers vs. El Salvador and Trinidad & Tobago on Sept. 5 and Sept. 9, respectively.
"Clearly these are very important games in our effort to qualify for 2010 FIFA World Cup," Bradley said. "As we expected, qualifying in this region is very competitive. Both El Salvador and Trinidad & Tobago will be hungry to get points from these matches, and we have an opportunity to position ourselves well to secure a berth for South Africa."
The team, which will begin training in Utah on Aug. 30, currently sits in third place in CONCACAF's final round hexagonal, collecting 10 points and a 3-2-1 record through six games. Costa Rica is first with 12 points, followed by Honduras and the U.S. The top three teams automatically advance to the World Cup, while the fourth place team will participate in a two-leg playoff against the fifth place team from South America.
