New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - French Open semifinalist Dominika Cibulkova has pulled out of the 2009 U.S. Open, citing a rib injury. The Slovakian Cibulkova, currently ranked 16th in the world, reached the third round at last year's U.S. Open. Italian Alberta Brianti will now move into the main draw at Flushing Meadows, but not as a seeded player. The U.S. Open gets underway on Monday at the USTA National Tennis Center. |
