Jacksonville, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought back tight end Ernest Wilford, who had his contract terminated by the Miami Dolphins on Monday.

Terms of the contract for Wilford were undisclosed.

Wilford played his first four NFL seasons with the Jaguars, who originally selected him in the fourth round of the 2004 draft as a wide receiver. He signed a four-year contract with Miami as a free agent in February 2008, but played just seven games last season and was a healthy scratch for nine others.

The Virginia Tech product had just three catches for 25 yards last year. He was moved to tight end this summer and caught a 33-yard touchdown pass against Jacksonville in Miami's first preseason game, but apparently did not merit enough consideration to remain with the team.

In four years with the Jaguars, the Virginia Tech product hauled in 141 passes for 1,994 yards with 14 touchdowns. He ranks second in team history with a 14.1-yard average per reception.

The Jaguars opened a roster spot by waiving defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis, who spent the entire 2008 season on injured reserve.
