Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Fred Reid, Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive end Stevie Baggs and Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Larry Taylor and safety Matthieu Proulx were named the CFL's top players for the eighth week of the season on Tuesday. Reid, the Offensive Player of the Week, set a club record and career high with 260 rushing yards, scoring twice on 26 carries in the Bombers' 37-10 win against British Columbia. The feat was the third-best rushing performance in CFL history. Reid's 1,390 combined yards leads the league while his 795 rushing yards is 160 more than his closest competitor. He was also the CFL's top offensive player for Week 6. Baggs bagged Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 10 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in a 34-25 setback to Montreal. He leads the CFL with seven sacks and is tied for first with three forced fumbles. Montreal's Taylor serves as Special Teams Player of the Week as he burned the Riders for a 68-yard punt return for a score and returned a kickoff 51 yards to set up another. Named the Canadian Player of the Week, Proulx was also instrumental in the Als' victory over Saskatchewan, intercepting two passes and making four tackles.
