Greensboro, NC (My Sportsbook) - Sergio Garcia and Chris Riley were tied atop the leaderboard Saturday when the third round of the Wyndham Championship was suspended due to darkness.
Garcia and Riley are tied at 13-under par through 10 holes. Garcia chose not to hit a nine-foot birdie putt on the 11th green after the horn blew to suspend play.
There was a weather delay after the second round ended Saturday morning and another delay once the third round got underway at Sedgefield Country Club. The event has been playing catch up since a long delay during Thursday's first round.
The weather forecast for Sunday is much better with no bad weather expected. The third round is slated to resume Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. (et) with the final round to follow.
Steve Marino is the leader in the clubhouse at 12-under-par 198. He fired a seven-under 63 in the third round. He shares third place with Justin Rose (13 holes), U.S. Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples (12 holes) and Kevin Stadler (11 holes).
Riley shared the lead entering round three with Ryan Moore and Jeff Maggert. Riley jumped in front at the first when he holed out for eagle. An up-and-down birdie on the fifth gave Riley a two-stroke lead at 14-under.
Garcia, playing one group ahead of Riley, birdied one, three and five to move to 12-under. Both Garcia and Riley parred the sixth through ninth.
The Spaniard birdied the 10th to move to 13-under. Riley followed with a bogey on the same hole to drop into a share of the lead. The horn then blew stopping action for the day.
Brandt Snedeker (14 holes) and Bill Haas (10 holes) share seventh place at minus-11.
Kevin Sutherland is in the clubhouse at 10-under-par 200 after a six-under 64 in the third round. He was joined there by Glen Day (13 holes), Johnson Wagner (12 holes), Maggert and Moore, who are both through 10 holes.
