Montreal, QC (My Sportsbook) - Anthony Calvillo threw two touchdown passes and Avon Cobourne rushed for 101 yards on 19 carries, as the Montreal Alouettes remained the class of the CFL with a 34-25 victory over Saskatchewan. Calvillo completed 19-of-28 attempts for 170 yards to help the Alouettes improve to a league-best 7-1. Cobourne also had three receptions for 20 yards and a score, while Ben Cahoon caught five balls for 50 yards and a TD. Darian Durant completed 19-of-31 passes for 326 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Roughriders (4-4), who have dropped two of their last three games. Weston Dressler registered a game-high eight receptions for 179 yards in defeat. A single and 68-yard punt return by Larry Taylor gave Montreal an early 8-0 lead. Saskatchewan got two points on a safety concession with a little over four minutes to go in the opening frame. Trailing 9-2, Rob Bagg hauled in a 26-yard strike from Durant to even the score in the opening moments of the second quarter. A single put the visitors in front, but a Damon Duval 18-yard field goal restored the lead for Montreal at 12-10. Durant hit Gerran Walker for a 43-yard touchdown with 2:34 to play in the second, but the Alouettes answered when Calvillo connected with Ben Cahoon on a quick slant for a nine-yard score inside the final minute of the first half. Chris Leak's two-yard TD pass to Kerry Watkins stretched Montreal's lead to 26-17 in the third quarter, and the advantage ballooned to 33-17 on Cobourne's 10-yard TD with six minutes to go in the fourth. A four-yard TD run by Hugh Charles and the subsequent two-point conversion closed the gap to 33-25, but Montreal tacked on a single late in regulation to clinch the victory.
