Jersey City, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Tiger Woods announced on his website Friday that he will compete next week in The Barclays. This is the first time Woods will appear in that event as part of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Woods, who is coming off a stunning loss to Y.E. Yang at the PGA Championship, has played The Barclays tournament four times in his career. All four of those came at Westchester Country Club when the tournament was the Buick Classic. The world's No. 1 owns a 1,276-point lead in the FedEx Cup points race over Steve Stricker entering this week's Wyndham Championship. Neither player is in the field at the last event before the playoffs begin next week at Liberty National Golf Club. Once the FedEx Cup playoffs begin next week, the points will be re-set after the third event, the BMW Championship.
