Sugar Grove, IL (My Sportsbook) - Michelle Wie will make her Solheim Cup debut Friday morning when she teams with Morgan Pressel in the morning's anchor match. Wie and Pressel will play the European squad of Women's British Open champion Catriona Matthew and Maria Hjorth in the final foursomes match Friday morning at 9:50 a.m. (et). The 11th Solheim Cup will start with the American duo of Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr against European captain Alison Nicholas' best team, Sophie Gustafson and Suzann Pettersen. That match, and the competition, begins at 9:05 a.m. "We have to set the tone early," said Creamer. "We're going to try and get the fans as loud as they can." Match two pits the U.S. pair of Juli Inkster and Angela Stanford against the European side of Helen Alfredsson and Tania Elosegui. American captain Beth Daniel sends out Brittany Lang and Brittany Lincicome in the third match versus the European tandem of Laura Davies and Becky Brewerton. Then comes Wie, one of Daniel's captain's picks, and Pressel and the more experienced European team. On Saturday, the format remains the same with four four-ball matches in the morning and four foursomes matches in the afternoon. On Sunday, there will be 12 singles matches pitting all participants. Since the U.S. won in 2007, the American side needs just 14 points to retain the Cup, while the European team must reach 14 1/2 points to reclaim the Cup.
