Erika de Souza donated 15 points and 13 rebounds for Atlanta, while Sancho Lyttle added 10 and 12 in the club's fifth win in six games. Deanna Nolan logged a game-high 20 points, while Katie Smith and Cheryl Ford chipped in 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Shock, who had won three of four coming into the game. Chamique Holdsclaw shot just 2-for-10 for Atlanta but hit two free throws during a late 7-0 run. Castro Marques capped the stretch with a three-pointer for a 75-69 edge with two minutes remaining, and the hosts held on from there.
