Dundee, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Dundee United has confirmed the signing of former Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver on a short-term deal. The 30-year-old has been with Charlton Athletic since 2007 but opted to leave after his contract expired and The Valley-based side were relegated from the Championship. Despite offers from other teams he has joined the Tannadice club with the aim of playing regular first-team football and securing a move back to the Premiership. Speaking to the club's official website, manager Craig Levein said: "I'm delighted to get Nicky Weaver in until the next transfer window in January. "Nicky's a proven goalkeeper at both Premiership and Championship level, with an impressive pedigree, and this move is beneficial both to him and to Dundee United." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
