Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - The New York Giants are reportedly close to signing quarterback Eli Manning to a lucrative contract extension. According to FOXSports.com, the deal is for six years worth $97.5 million, with $35 million guaranteed. The new pact would make the former No. 1 overall pick the highest paid player in the history of the NFL and will keep him with the Giants through the 2015 campaign. Manning made it to his first Pro Bowl last season after completing 289-of-479 passes for 3,238 yards with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His completion percentage of 60.3 was a career-best. The Ole Miss product was named the MVP of Super Bowl XLII when the Giants shocked the world and upset the then-unblemished New England Patriots, 17-14.
