Bensalem, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia Park, the home track of recently retired Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Smarty Jones, will be the setting for the colt's public farewell. The racetrack has announced that fans can say goodbye to the colt on Saturday, August 14. Plans call for Smarty Jones to be paraded down the home stretch some time during the race program. Details on the retirement party have yet to be finalized. On the day of the party, gates will open at 10:30 A.M. allowing the expected large turnout to get clear viewing of the champion thoroughbred. Smarty Jones, the winner of six of seven starts this year, will likely be voted champion three-year-old of 2004. |
