Edmonton, AB (My Sportsbook) - Ricky Ray completed 23-of-27 passes for 363 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, as the Edmonton Eskimos defeated Montreal, 33-19, avenging a lopsided loss earlier in the month to the Alouettes.

Fred Stamps had four receptions for 109 yards and two scores for the Eskimos (3-2), who were spanked 50-16 at Montreal on July 9. Jamaica Rector amassed 57 yards on six grabs, while Maurice Mann caught four passes for 82 yards.

Anthony Calvillo completed 28-of-34 passes for 236 yards and Avon Cobourne added a rushing touchdown for the Alouettes (4-1), who suffered their first blemish of the season.

Despite the setback, Calvillo became just the second player in CFL history to pass for 60,000 yards when he hooked up with Kerry Watkins for a 12-yard toss early in the first quarter.

Montreal jumped out to a 6-0 lead behind the leg of Damon Duval, who converted from 37 and 33 yards, but Noel Prefontaine kicked a 33-yard field goal of his own to put Edmonton on the board with 1:28 remaining in the opening quarter.

A conceded safety and a five-yard TD pass from Ray to Calvin McCarty gave the home team a 12-6 lead with just under three minutes to play in the second frame.

Another field goal by Duval -- this time from 21 yards out -- cut the deficit to 12-9 at halftime.

Edmonton's lead stretched to 10 in the third quarter when Stamps hauled in a 28-yard TD pass and Ray's one-yard plunge made it a 26-9 game early in the fourth.

Cobourne's one-yard score and a 31-yard field goal by Duval closed the gap to 26-19 with a little less than four minutes remaining, but Ray found Stamps for a 48-yard TD to seal the win.

Game Notes

Calvillo trails only Damon Allen in CFL passing yards. Allen threw for 72,381 yards during his career...Cobourne rushed for 58 yards on 11 carries and caught seven passes for 62 yards...Ben Cahoon had 79 yards on seven receptions for Montreal.
