San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Chargers came to terms on four-year contracts with four 2009 draft picks on Sunday. The picks include defensive tackle Vaughn Martin, guards Louis Vasquez and Tyronne Green and running back Gartrell Johnson. Vasquez was taken in the third round with the 78th overall pick, while Martin, Green and Johnson were all selected in the fourth round. The 22-year-old Vasquez was a third-team All-American for Texas Tech this past season and benched 225 pounds 39 times at the NFL combine, the most of any participant this season. With the signings, the Chargers have just three unsigned draft picks: linebacker and first-round pick Larry English, sixth-round selection and safety Kevin Ellison and seventh-round wideout Demetrious Byrd. |
