Oakville, ON (My Sportsbook) - Jamie Lovemark, the former top-ranked amateur in the world, has turned professional ahead of this week's Canadian Open. Lovemark, 21, announced Wednesday that he will forego his senior season at the University of Southern California, where he was a two-time All American and multiple award winner. "Playing professionally has been a dream for me for many years, and I'm excited that this dream is coming true," Lovemark said in a statement. Lovemark last played on the PGA Tour at the 2008 Wyndham Championship, missing the cut. He has played in eight PGA Tour events over the past three years, making five cuts. He lost in a playoff and finished second at a 2007 Nationwide Tour event. Following the Canadian Open, Lovemark will play in the Buick Open. He has signed with IMG.
