Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Real Madrid's sporting director, Miguel Pardeza, insists Cesc Fabregas will not be moving to the Bernabeu this summer. Reports in Spain had suggested Real were still interested in snapping up the Spain international while Barcelona have also been linked with the 22-year-old Gunners captain. However, Pardeza said: "He is a great player, there's no doubt about that. "But at this moment he is not a target for Real Madrid. The club is working on other alternatives." Of Real's attempts to land Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, Pardeza added: "Madrid must not discard an option until it's totally gone. "Now there is an insurmountable financial barrier, but it's something that could change. We're looking for alternatives, although there aren't many." Real have already spent almost $325 million on strengthening their squad with the captures of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Raul Albiol this summer. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
