Valencia, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Vicente Soriano has reassured Valencia fans that the club does not need to sell their star players following his return to office at the Mestalla. Soriano resigned as president at the cash-strapped La Liga club towards the end of last season amid reports of impending financial meltdown. But after returning to the helm as head of new major shareholders, Inversiones Dalport, Soriano is bullish about the financial future of the club. Valencia were expected to cash in on prize assets David Villa and David Silva this summer with a host of leading European clubs queuing up to sign the star pair. "We don't need to sell players," proclaimed Soriano. "We don't need to detach ourselves from our best sporting assets. "In front of whatever situation that presents itself with respect to our players we will make a decision together when the moment comes and we are ready to assess whatever conversation with them. "In principal it's not necessary to sell. What we will do will only be for sporting interest." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
