Nashville, TN (My Sportsbook) - Former Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair was found shot to death Saturday. He was 36.

Nashville police department public affairs manager Don Aaron confirmed McNair's death. Aaron said that an unidentified female victim was also found. It is not known when the shooting occurred, or what the circumstances of the shooting were.

The Tennessean later reported the unidentified woman was 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, who apparently died of a single gunshot wound to the head, while McNair, according to the report, died of multiple gunshots inside a condominium in downtown Nashville.

Autopsies of both victims will be conducted on Sunday.

McNair, who announced his retirement from the NFL in April 2008, last played in the NFL in 2007, when he was with the Ravens. The longtime Titans quarterback spent 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise.

"We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair's passing today," Titans owner K.S. "Bud" Adams said in a statement. "He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing."

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, McNair was named co-MVP of the league in 2003. In 161 games (153 starts), McNair threw for 31,304 yards on 2,733- of-4,544 passing, with 174 touchdowns. He also ran for 3,590 career yards and 37 TDs.

"I will remember Steve's smile, his laugh, his ability to cook -- the man could cook -- and just the human being that he was," said former Titans running back Eddie George. "We had some great times together, wonderful personality. The football thing was one thing and I remember his playing days, but just the human being. He brought so much joy to so many people. He was a consummate pro and he was a gentleman."

McNair was selected third overall in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers, after he enjoyed a stellar college career at Alcorn State, winning the Walter Payton Award in 1994.
