Campbellville, ON (My Sportsbook) - Morning-line favorite Well Said, driven by Ron Pierce, made a charge coming off the final turn to win Saturday's running of the $1.5 million North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack. The three- year-old colt paced the mile in 1:48 1/5.

Well Said, the 2008 Breeders' Crown champ, settled into the middle of the 10 horse field as If I Can Dream set the pace around the clubhouse turn and into the backstretch. Pacing in second was Mr. Wiggles with OK Boromir in third and 9-5 favorite Keep It Real racing in fourth.

Keep It Real joined If I Can Dream on the lead after the first half-mile while Well Said remained in sixth. Around the far turn Dial Or Nodial took the lead with Keep It Real in second, If I Can Dream in third and Well Said in fourth.

Around the final turn Keep It Real and driver Steven Condren had the lead over Dial Or Nodial, If I Can Dream and Well Said. Well Said, the 5-2 second choice, took the lead at the top of the stretch and went on to register a three-length win over Art Colony and Hall of Fame driver John Campbell. Keep It Real finished third and Mr. Wiggles was fourth.

Rounding out the order of finish of the 26th North America Cup was Mr. Wiggles, Dial Or Nodial, If I Can Dream, Chasin Racin, Ok Boromir, Annieswesterncard and Millionaire Cam.

Well Said is owned by Jeffrey Snyder of New York City and Lothlorien of Cheltenham, ON, and trained by Steve Elliott. Driver Ron Pierce won the North America Cup for the second time, having taken the 2006 Cup with Total Truth.

The three-year-old pacer won for the third time this year in four starts and adds $750,000 to his earnings. For his career Well Said has earned $1,389,627 with seven wins in 16 starts. Last week Well Said upset Keep It Real to win one of the four North America Cup elimination heats.

Well Said returned $7.90, $5.00 and $3.20. Art Colony paid $7.00 and $4.40, and Keep It Real paid $2.80 to show.
