Rochester, NY (My Sportsbook) - Jiyai Shin shot a four-under 68 and took the lead Friday at the rain-delayed Wegmans LPGA. Shin, the reigning Women's British Open champion, moved to 11-under 133, but Morgan Pressel was gaining on her when the second round was suspended due to darkness. Pressel went four-under par through the first 14 holes of her second round, pulling within three shots of Shin's lead at eight-under when play was called at 8:37 p.m. (et). The second round was interrupted by a four-hour rain delay. That followed a nearly three-hour weather delay on Thursday that pushed the completion of the first round until Friday morning. "Where is the New York sun?" Paige Mackenzie, at two-over par, asked on her Twitter page during the delay. She should get an answer to that question Saturday morning, when half of the field returns to the Locust Hill course to complete the second round under forecasted sunny skies. Sandra Gal, the first-round leader, slipped four shots behind Shin with a 73 that dropped her into third place at seven-under 137. Michelle Wie, Stacy Lewis and Kristy McPherson were also at seven-under par with holes to play in their second rounds. Wie, still seeking her first LPGA Tour win, went four-under through her first 12 holes. MORE TO FOLLOW.
