Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Japan international Shunsuke Nakamura has left Celtic on a free transfer and penned a two-year contract with Espanyol. The 30-year-old had been linked with a switch to Yokohama Marinos but has opted to move to Spain instead after enjoying four successful seasons with the Bhoys. "The player Shunsuke Nakamura, who has been playing for Celtic, has become a new RCD Espanyol player, after reaching an agreement with the club," a statement on the Spanish side's official website read. "All that remains is for him to undergo the usual medical examination. Nakamura will then sign a deal that will see him play for los Pericos for the next two seasons. "Then the player will probably arrive in Barcelona on July 10 to undergo his medical before being presented and shown around the city a few days before pre- season starts with the team." Espanyol snapped up Chelsea's young Israel international striker Ben Sahar on Monday. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
