Silverstone, England (My Sportsbook) - Sebastian Vettel was a one-man show in winning Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit.

Vettel started on the pole and relinquished the lead only when he pitted for the final time. The young German finished a whopping 15.188 seconds ahead of teammate Mark Webber to give Red Bull Racing a one-two finish and overpower the mighty Brawn GP for the second time this season.

"The start was very important, then in the first stint I tried to pull away and make a gap, as I knew it would be crucial for the whole race." Vettel said.

Vettel recorded his third career F1 victory but his first in dry conditions. His maiden win came in the rain-soaked Italian Grand Prix last September, as he set a new F1 record for youngest race winner -- at age 21. In April, Vettel overcame rainy conditions to win the Chinese Grand Prix and give Red Bull its first victory.

"The car was fantastic, just unbelievable," he said. "I was able to push more and more, and the tires were very consistent."

Red Bull also swept the Chinese GP, with Webber coming in second.

Webber finished in the runner-up position for the third time in his career. The Aussie has yet to win on the F1 circuit.

"I'm disappointed not to take the win, but I think I lost my chance for victory yesterday during qualifying," Webber said. "I should have been on the front row and, if so, I would have tried to make Sebastian work a bit harder."

Webber overtook Rubens Barrichello for second during the first round of stops and then held the position for the remainder of the 60-lap event. Barrichello ended up third, giving the Brazilian driver his fourth podium finish of the season and the best result for Brawn in the British GP.

"It's been a tough weekend for the team, and we knew that if the track temperatures didn't increase, then it would be incredibly difficult to beat the Red Bulls," Barrichello said.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa and Williams' Nico Rosberg rounded out the top-five.

Jenson Button, the current world championship leader and winner of six of the first seven grand prix this year, finished a season-worst sixth. The Brawn driver fell several positions behind on the opening lap and was never a factor.

"I had a bad start as (Jarno) Trulli was slow off the line in front of me which left nowhere to go," Button said. "I tried the inside and then the outside but everyone shot by me."

Vettel kept his championship hopes very much alive, as he moved to within two points of second-place Barrichello and 25 behind leader Button.

"All points are important at this stage of the season and to come away with three from this weekend is therefore okay," Button added.

Trulli from Toyota and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen finished seventh and eighth, respectively, while Timo Glock, also in a Toyota, and Giancarlo Fisichella from Force India completed the top-10.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton finished 16th in what turned out to be another disappointing performance for the defending world champion. Hamilton won the British GP last year.

Toro Rosso's Sebastien Bourdais and Heikki Kovalainen from McLaren were the only drivers retired from the event. The two made contact just past the half- way point.

The British GP is expected to be held at Donington Park in 2010 after Silverstone hosted the first world championship race in 1950.
