Sunrise, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Florida Panthers have re-assigned goaltender Wade Flaherty to their minor-league affiliate. He will join the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. Flaherty was 0-3 with a 4.34 goals-against average in three games this pre- season. He spent most of last season in the minors and played just four games with the Panthers, posting a 2.94 GAA in that span. The 34-year-old veteran has played parts of 10 NHL seasons with San Jose, the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay and Florida, mostly as a backup. The Panthers will likely start the regular season with Jani Hurme as the backup to Roberto Luongo. Hurme was acquired from Ottawa earlier this week.
