Rome, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Manchester United central defender Rio Ferdinand is confident that he will be fully fit to feature in the Champions League final against Barcelona on Wednesday evening. The 30-year-old England international has been sidelined since early May by a combination of calf and rib injuries, but has returned to training in recent days and hopes to start alongside Nemanja Vidic at the heart of United's defense. "My injury is fine. I have been training the last couple of days with the team and I feel good," Ferdinand told reporters. "The manager knows I wouldn't put myself into a position to be in the game if I wasn't 100 percent fit. "We have got a talented squad and if my fitness was ever going to be detrimental to the team and the result, then I wouldn't play. I have been working hard with the physios at the club, training hard and working on the injury. I don't see any problems." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
