Clifton, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Suzann Pettersen and Ji Young Oh both carded three-under 69s Saturday to move into a share of the lead after three rounds of the Sybase Classic.
Pettersen and Oh are tied at 12-under-par 204 and are one stroke clear of second-round leader Brittany Lincicome. The Kraft Nabisco champion managed an even-par 72 in the third round.
Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie are tied for fourth place at nine-under-par 207 after both shot 68 on Saturday at Upper Montclair Country Club.
Defending champion Lorena Ochoa dipped into a share of 27th after shooting an even-par 72 in the third round. She completed 54 holes at two-under-par 214.
Lincicome played the front nine in even-par with two bogeys and two birdies. She parred her final nine holes to end at minus-11. Lincicome owned at least a piece of the lead until the ninth, where she made bogey.
Oh birdied the first from nine feet out, but could not save par from a bunker on the fourth. She dropped her third within two feet at the par-five fifth and kicked that in for birdie.
The 2008 LPGA State Farm Classic winner made back-to-back birdie putts from seven and 10 feet from the seventh to grab a piece of the lead at 12-under.
Pettersen birdied the first, but tripped to a bogey on the third. She birdied the fifth and sixth, both for the third straight day, to move to 11-under.
She stumbled to a three-putt bogey on the par-five seventh and came right back with birdies on eight and nine to join Oh in the lead at 12-under.
Oh fell one back of Pettersen as she bogeyed the 12th after missing the green left. She atoned for that mistake with a long birdie putt at 14 to get back to 12-under. Oh parred her final four holes to end there.
"It was good weather today and good conditions on the golf course," Oh said. "I felt really good and everything went right. My swing was good and so was my putting."
Oh shares the 54-hole lead for the first time in her LPGA Tour career and will go for her second tour win on Sunday.
Pettersen briefly grabbed the lead with a 10-foot birdie putt on the 16th. However, she missed a 20-foot par putt on 17 to slip back to minus-12.
"I made up some ground today. I played very solid," stated Pettersen. "I gave myself a lot of chances. You've just got to keep hitting solid putts. Some are going to go in; some are going to bounce off line. But all you can do is focus on hitting solid putts, and as long as you give yourself chances, there are plenty of birdies out there."
Pettersen has owned a piece of the 54-hole lead five times on the LPGA Tour and has won two of those five, including a playoff win over Ochoa at the 2007 Longs Drugs Challenge.
Hee Young Park is alone in sixth at eight-under-par 208 after shooting 67 in the third round. Candie Kung (69) is one shot further back at minus-seven.
Ai Miyazato (69), Moira Dunn (70) and first-round leader Helen Alfredsson (72) share eighth place at six-under-par 210.
