Glasgow, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - A goal from Steven Davis in the 37th minute was enough to see Rangers past Celtic, 1-0 at the Ibrox Stadium on Saturday. The win moves Walter Smith's side two points clear of the Hoops at the top of the table with just three games remaining as Gers attempt to prevent Celtic from clinching a fourth successive Scottish Premier League title. The visitors created the first real chance of the match with a dangerous free kick from Shunsuke Nakamura that was tipped over the crossbar by goalkeeper Neil Alexander, while Rangers came within inches of going ahead when Steven Whittaker's cross skipped through the face of goal and smacked off the far post. Celtic had a penalty appeal turned down in the 32nd minute, but it was the home side that found the net five minutes later with Davis finishing off a good low cross from Kenny Miller inside the six-yard box. Davis then kept his team in front at the break when he cleared a header from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink off the line. Boyd could have stretched the lead to two goals in the second half when he was put through on goal by Miller, but he fired straight at goalkeeper Artur Boruc. Aiden McGeady came on as a substitute for Celtic and sent a rocket just wide of the post, but the home side always looked like claiming the win and they could have added another goal five minutes from time when Boyd headed over from a Miller cross. David Clarkson scored a pair of goals to give Motherwell a 3-1 win over St Mirren while Kilmarnock finished 1-1 with Falkirk as Kevin Kyle scored in the 67th minute to level the match for Killie.
