Edinburgh, Scotland (My Sportsbook) - Hearts defender Marius Zaliukas has signed a new contract to keep him at Tynecastle until December 2010. The 25-year-old's future in Edinburgh had been in doubt following the recent departures of fellow Lithuanians Saulius Mikoliunas and Deividas Cesnauskis. Zaliukas joins four others - Lee Wallace, Jamie MacDonald, Calum Elliot and Jason Thomson - in putting pen to paper on new deals in recent weeks. He has made 100 appearances after joining Hearts on loan from Kaunas in August 2006. "Marius Zaliukas has signed a new deal which will keep him at Tynecastle until December 31, 2010," confirmed a club statement. "The Lithuanian international defender has been a stalwart in central defense for Hearts, playing in 26 league and cup games this season." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
