Colorado Springs, CO (My Sportsbook) - Darryl Seibel resigned on Tuesday as the chief communications officer of the United States Olympic Committee. Seibel will remain with the organization on a full-time basis through June 5 and afterward will become a consultant on specific assignments for the USOC. "Since the conclusion of the Beijing Games, I have had the opportunity to give serious consideration as to when the time would be right to turn the page and begin a new chapter professionally - and that time is now," Seibel said. "My gratitude for having had the opportunity to work alongside so many talented athletes, coaches, teammates and journalists is immeasurable." The USOC now has more than nine months to find a replacement for Seibel before the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. There have been a wave of changes at the USOC since the 2008 Summer Olympics concluded. Chief executive officer Jim Scherr resigned from his position and was replaced by Stephanie Streeter. Steve Roush, the USOC's chief of sport performance, resigned in January. Rick Burton, organization's chief marketing officer, resigned last November.
