Arlington, TX (My Sportsbook) - Ian Kinsler homered and knocked in two runs, as Texas took the rubber match of this three-game series with the White Sox, 5-1, at Rangers Ballpark.
Kinsler ended with two hits and scored twice while Michael Young collected a pair of hits and a RBI in the win for the Rangers, who have won four of the last six overall. Nelson Cruz finished 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Matt Harrison (2-2) won his second consecutive start for Texas, tossing five shutout frames and yielding six hits with three strikeouts to zero walks.
Jayson Nix had two hits and the lone RBI for Chicago, which had won two of its last three. Alexei Ramirez, Brent Lillibridge and Wilson Betemit also had two hits each in the loss.
John Danks (2-2) dropped his second straight start for Chicago, giving up 10 hits and five runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Kinsler led off Texas' first frame with a blast to the seats in left-center and the Rangers produced single runs in the third and fourth innings to grab a 3-0 edge.
Elvis Andrus doubled to left with one down in the third and swiped third base. Young grounded to first for the second out but Andruw Jones came through, lifting an RBI single into left field.
Marlon Byrd doubled to start the fourth, moved up a base on Cruz's single and crossed home on Chris Davis' double-play ball.
Harrison, meanwhile, held Chicago off the board over the first five frames. He had to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth, though, helping to reach 100 pitches and end his night early. Consecutive singles by Ramirez, Lillibridge and Nix juiced the bases with one away but Josh Fields struck out and Carlos Quentin was retired on a fly ball to right.
Kinsler then legged out an infield hit leading off the fifth, advanced on a sac but by Andrus and came around to score on Young's single through the left side for a 4-0 margin.
Texas tacked on a run in the sixth. Cruz led off with a single, stole second and moved to third on a Taylor Teagarden single. Octavio Dotel took over for Danks and allowed a sac fly off the bat of Kinsler.
Chicago got on the board in the seventh as Jason Jennings was touched for a Nix sac fly in his second frame of relief. Ramirez scored after leading off with a double and advancing to third on a single by Lillibridge.
Darren O'Day and C.J. Wilson combined to keep the White Sox from getting any closer over the final two innings.
