Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - Houston Rockets guard Von Wafer was cleared to play Game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals against Portland despite a bulging disc in his back. The Rockets said following extensive rehabilitation treatments Thursday, team Physician Dr. Thomas Clanton cleared Wafer for action and that he was expected to be available to play in tonight's game. Wafer is averaging 10.6 points as a key reserve this series. Houston leads the best-of-seven set 3-2 and is one victory away from winning its first playoff series since 1997, a span of six straight opening-round exits. |
