Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Brendan Ryan was placed on the 15-day disabled on Thursday with a left hamstring injury. The Cardinals also recalled infielder Tyler Greene from Memphis (PCL). Ryan exited Wednesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta in the fifth inning with a left hamstring injury. The infielder hurt the leg while running out a foul grounder to third base. As he crossed first base, he grabbed the back of his leg and was attended to by the Cardinals trainer before heading to the clubhouse under his own power. He was replaced by Brian Barden. Ryan had a double and run scored before leaving the contest, while Barden had a single and crossed the plate once. Greene, who was a first-round draft choice of St. Louis in June 2005, will be making his major league debut when the Cardinals play at Washington on Thursday.
