Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Dodgers purchased the contract of pitcher Jeff Weaver from Triple-A Albuquerque and reinstated right-hander Cory Wade from the 15-day disabled list on Thursday. Additionally, the club optioned pitcher Scott Elbert to Double-A Chattanooga and infielder Blake DeWitt to Albuquerque. To make room for Weaver on the roster, the Dodgers transferred Doug Mientkiewicz to the 60-day DL from the 15-day DL. Weaver, 32, went 1-0 with one save and a 3.55 ERA in five games (one start) with Albuquerque. Wade was placed on the DL on April 18 (retroactive to April 12) with right shoulder bursitis. He made four appearances with the Dodgers before being placed on the DL, going 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA. Elbert appeared in three games with Los Angeles after being recalled from Chattanooga on April 18 and picked up his first MLB win on April 19 against Colorado. DeWitt has played in nine games with the Dodgers this season, his second in the league, and has three hits and one run scored in 17 at-bats.
