Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - Billy Butler blasted his first two homers of the year, and the Kansas City Royals routed the Toronto Blue Jays, 11-3, in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Butler finished the game 4-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBI, as the Royals stopped a brief skid in which they had lost three of four.

Zack Greinke (5-0) allowed an earned run for the first time in 43 innings but still earned the win, yielding two runs on five hits and two walks while fanning eight in seven frames. Greinke became the first pitcher in the league this season to record five wins.

Mark Teahen had a two-run homer while Mike Aviles tripled, doubled and knocked in a pair of runs.

Aaron Hill had a pair of hits, while Vernon Wells became the first player this season to record an RBI off Greinke, as the Blue Jays lost for the third time in five games.

Brian Tallet (1-1), in his ninth start out of 159 career appearances, was highly ineffective, giving up 10 runs on 11 hits and three walks in four-plus innings. He struck out two in the loss.

Greinke allowed his first earned run of the season in the opening frame. Marco Scutaro led off with a double but appeared to be stranded, as the next two hitters both struck out swinging. Wells came through by hitting a single to center to score the runner.

"A lot of pitches that people usually swing at, they were laying off it today," Greinke said. "In the first inning, I threw some good pitches to Scutaro, then to Wells I threw some real sliders. He took them, then he hit a good slider. I really couldn't have done much more. Good job by them. They're the best hitting team in baseball."

Butler's solo homer for the Royals in the second tied the game.

Toronto went back in front by a run in the third, as Scutaro scored when Alex Rios grounded into a double play, but Kansas City struck for three runs in the home half.

"I always felt (Greinke) had good stuff," Scutaro said. "He's putting all his stuff together, so he's a tough pitcher."

Coco Crisp led off with a double and moved to third on Willie Bloomquist's bunt single. After the next two batters were retired, Butler drove in both runners with a double and scored on Mike Jacobs' single to left, giving the hosts a 4-2 advantage.

Teahen blasted a two-run homer to center in the fourth for a 6-2 Royals lead. Butler's leadoff blast in the fifth -- his second of the game -- gave KC a five-run lead.

The Royals continued to pour it on in the fifth, adding three more runs. Jacobs followed the homer with a walk and moved to third on Alberto Callaspo's double. Aviles drove in both runners with a bloop hit down the right field line that turned into a triple when it was misplayed by Rios. Aviles later scored on a Shawn Camp passed ball to extend the edge to 10-2.

Butler scored in the sixth on a fielder's choice, as the Royals continued to extend their lead.

Jamey Wright gave up a run in relief of Greinke, as Hill scored on a double play in the eighth, accounting for the final margin.

Game Notes

The Blue Jays came into the game with a MLB-best 133 runs scored...Greinke's ERA now stands at 0.50.
