New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups claimed the Joe Dumars Trophy presented to 2008-09 NBA Sportsmanship Award winner, the league announced on Tuesday. The 12-year veteran, who finished with 82 first-place votes totalling 2,478 points, beat out Boston's Ray Allen and Detroit's Antonio McDyess, who ended second and third, respectively, in voting done by NBA players. The award is given annually to the player that represents the NBA in all phases of sportsmanship, including ethical behavior, fair play and integrity. The trophy was named after former Pistons guard and Hall of Famer Joe Dumars, who claimed the first-ever award. Other players receiving votes were: Washington's Antawn Jamison, San Antonio's Michael Finley and Golden State's Ronny Turiaf.
