Calgary, AB (My Sportsbook) - Nikolai Khabibulin made 43 saves, backstopping Chicago to a 4-1 win over Calgary and helping the Blackhawks wrap up their first playoff series win in 13 years. Chicago took the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series, 4-2, with the Game 6 win at Pengrowth Saddledome. The Blackhawks won their first postseason set since 1996, when they swept the Flames in the conference quarters. Now Chicago has advanced after again topping Calgary, though only after doing something neither team could previously in the series -- win on the road. The fourth- seeded Blackhawks took the first two games and fifth-seeded Calgary won the next two before Chicago recorded a 5-1 victory in Game 5. The Blackhawks will face third-seeded Vancouver, which swept the sixth-seeded Blues, in the West semifinals. Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and two assists for the Blackhawks, while Patrick Kane added a goal and an assist. Adam Burish and Brian Campbell also scored, and along with Byfuglien, for the first time this postseason. Todd Bertuzzi had the lone goal for the Flames, who have fallen out of the postseason in the first round four consecutive years. Miikka Kiprusoff allowed three goals on 15 shots in the loss. Final Score: Anaheim 4, San Jose 1 Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - Jonas Hiller was sensational again between the pipes, making 36 saves, as the Anaheim Ducks completed a startling upset of the top-seeded San Jose Sharks with a 4-1 win in Game 6 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series. Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne, Francois Beauchemin and Ryan Getzlaf each lit the lamp for the Ducks. Milan Michalek had a power-play goal for the Sharks, while Evgeni Nabokov was beaten four times on 32 shots in defeat. For San Jose, this was supposed to be the year the franchise overcame past playoff inadequacies to reach the top of the mountain and raise hockey's ultimate prize. The Sharks were coming off the most fruitful regular season in club history, capturing their first Presidents' Trophy while setting franchise records in wins (53) and points (117). But the Ducks, led by the superb goaltending of Hiller, extended San Jose's postseason heartache. Perennial Cup contenders since a trip to the conference finals in 2004, San Jose had gotten knocked out in the semifinals in each of the last three seasons and was hoping to exorcise its playoff demons, but this abrupt appearance only adds to the organization's frustration. Anaheim, meanwhile, became just the eighth No. 8 seed to defeat the top seed since 1994 and the first club to accomplish the feat since Edmonton defused the mighty Red Wings in 2006. The Ducks now have the unenviable task of facing the defending champs in the next round after Detroit made quick work of the neophyte Blue Jackets, sweeping Columbus in its opening-round series.
