Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Stephen Drew was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a hamstring injury. Following the Diamondbacks' 5-3 loss to San Francisco on Saturday, manager Bob Melvin said in a postgame press conference that Drew would miss some time with the ailment. Drew has struggled thus far in 2009, hitting just .205 with a homer and five runs batted in. In 2008, the 26-year-old hit .291 with 21 homers and 67 RBI in 152 games. The move sparked a flurry of transactions for Arizona, which optioned pitcher Doug Slaten to Triple-A Reno, selected the contract of infielder Josh Wilson and recalled pitcher Esmerling Vasquez from its Triple-A affiliate.
