Kinsler homers twice as Rangers edge Orioles

Baltimore, MD (My Sportsbook) - Ian Kinsler belted two of Texas' four home runs, knocking in three as the Rangers took the second test of a four-game set against the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5.

"He's a guy that can hurt you many ways," Rangers manager Ron Washington said of Kinsler. "He can bunt, he can steal bags, he can beat you with singles...He can get you with extra base-hits and he can get you with the bomb...His game is getting better and better."

Chris Davis and Andruw Jones each had solo home runs for Texas, which has won four of six.

Scott Feldman (1-0) threw the minimum five innings to get credit for the win, allowing a run on four hits, while Derek Holland was effective in an extended bullpen appearance, surrendering just a run in three innings on the hill.

Frank Francisco got the final two outs of the game to pick up his fourth save after the Orioles made it a one-run game in the ninth.

Ty Wigginton homered and had a run-scoring single while Adam Jones knocked in a pair for the Orioles, whose starter, Mark Hendrickson (1-3), was roughed up for six runs -- five earned -- on eight hits in 4 1/3 frames.

"[Hendrickson] was trying to locate and it didn't happen for him," Orioles manager Dave Trembley said of his starter. "They have a very good hitting club as well, so when you make mistakes, as far as not being able to locate, they hit it."

Baltimore has lost eight of its last 10 affairs.

C.J. Wilson came in for Texas to hold a 6-2 lead in the ninth. Gregg Zaun reached base on Elvis Andrus' throwing error, Lou Montanez followed with a single, and Cesar Izturis doubled to left to make it a three-run game.

After getting Brian Roberts to pop out, Francisco was called in from the bullpen and was immediately welcomed by Jones, who took an outside fastball the other way for a two-run single.

The closer settled down, however, retiring Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff to seal the win.

Kinsler and Davis led off the first and second inning, respectively, with home runs, and Kinsler added his second bomb of the game and seventh of the season with a deep fly to left field, also scoring Andrus for a 4-0 lead in the second.

Jones' round-tripper opened the third inning, and Marlon Byrd's sacrifice fly to score Josh Hamilton in the fifth rebuilt the five-run edge in the fifth after Wigginton's RBI single in the fourth.

Wigginton logged a solo homer -- his first of the year -- in the sixth.

Game Notes

Hamilton left the game with an injured chest...It was Feldman's first start of the season, filling in for Kris Benson, who is out after a flare-up of right elbow tendinitis...Izturis had two hits for Baltimore, which stranded eight runners...Kinsler now has 20 RBI on the young season.
