Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Houston Astros placed catcher Humberto Quintero on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained right shoulder. Quintero suffered the injury during Friday's game in a home-plate collision with Brewers outfielder Mike Cameron. The 29-year-old has yet to record a hit in eight at-bats over four games this season for Houston. To fill the roster spot, the Astros recalled catcher J.R. Towles from Triple-A Round Rock. Towles was hitting. 344 in 11 games for Round Rock, and has a big league average of just .188 in 68 games over parts of two seasons with the Astros. |
