Kansas City, KS (My Sportsbook) - Ron Hornaday Jr. will start on the pole for Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway.
Hornaday grabbed the top starting position after turning the best lap around the 1.5-mile oval at 168.329 m.p.h. in his No.33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet. It was Hornaday's first pole this season and the 20th of his career. He won last year's race at Kansas.
Mike Skinner will start on the outside pole after posting the second-best lap at 167.525 m.p.h.
Ricky Carmichael, the newcomer in the series this year, will roll off third, followed by Chad McCumbee and defending series champion Johnny Benson.
Sixth through 10th will be: Colin Braun, Brian Scott, James Buescher, Brian Ickler and Tayler Malsam.
All 35 drivers who participated in qualifying will be in the race.
Due to his Sprint Cup and Nationwide obligations at Talladega, Kyle Busch will not compete at Kansas, and therefore will relinquish his points lead.
While it is mathematically possible for drivers ranked second through eighth in points to take the lead, it's likely that either Bodine, Hornaday or Skinner - second through fourth, respectively, in the standings - will walk away as the leader following Saturday's race.
Ickler, meanwhile will make his series debut behind the wheel of the No.51 Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota. Ickler, a Camping World East Series competitor, will step in for Busch, who drove the No.51 truck to victory at California and Atlanta this season.
The 250-mile race is scheduled to begin around 6:00 p.m. (et).
