Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets have signed infielder Mike Lamb to a minor league contract. Lamb is expected to report to extended spring training before heading to Triple-A Buffalo. The 33-year-old veteran is a career .277 hitter with 69 home runs and 345 runs batted in over nine big league seasons. He began his big league career in 2000 with Texas and spent four seasons with the Rangers before playing four seasons for the Houston Astros. Lamb spent last season with Minnesota and Milwaukee, then was re-signed by the Brewers in December before being released April 1. He joined the Brewers last September for the stretch run after being released by Minnesota in late August and went 3-for-11 with a pair of runs scored in 11 games for Milwaukee. In 81 games for the Twins last season, Lamb hit .233 with a homer and 32 runs batted in.
